The Ku Klux Klan is an American Anti-Foreigner group that is well known for their animosity toward African-Americans. There have been three different eras in which the KKK has been present. They were present during the civil war, during the 1920's, and they are present in Modern America. It is widely debated as to whether or not it should be legal for them to exist, but due to the right of peaceful assembly they are allowed to exist.
Racism was a huge factor in the 1920's life for African-Americans. There where many people who didn't want them to live in the same neighborhoods or even in the same city as them, because they believed it would cause them to all be looked down upon.
